Several major SPEEDPRINT installations have been completed in the eastern part of France during the second quarter of 2011 :
- the delivery of additional equipment to the EOLANE Group,
- in French-speaking Switzerland, the first installation of the latest generation machine,   equipped with the new Snugger option of PCB lateral holding system,
- the installation of SP700avi machines at 2 companies of over 100 employees, who had never previously purchased EUROPLACER equipment.

SENSOREX-2-OFFICIEL_4934Such is MEGGITT (SENSOREX) in Haute-Savoie near Geneve (www.sensorex.fr).
Member of the MEGGITT British Group for a few years (manufacturer of sensors and equipment for the aerospace industry, including Airbus and Boeing), this unit is a part of the group’s « Sensing Systems » division, next to Vibro-Meter.

Their main activities focus on movement sensors and high technology measuring systems for adverse environment.
European leader of LVDT no-contact sensors (for customers such as Dassault, Goodrich and Liebherr), SENSOREX is especially involved in the aerospace, military, medical and railway fields.

With around 150 employees, SENSOREX has been equipped for some years now to internally manufacture the whole range of its PCBs. After being linked to the industrial and medical areas, this production has been boosted since its introduction in the MEGGITT group.

In order to keep up with the increase of the electronics activity and the technological evolution, SENSOREX felt the need in 2011 to replace, without delay, its semi-automatic printing machine which was currently evidencing recurrent repeatability problems by a fully automatic system able to comply with the growing quality requirements as well as a high level of productivity.

SENSOREX had issued specifications for this investment to select equipment within 2 months, in order to fully qualify the new process before the 2011 Summer holidays.
The specifications were insisting on :
- the need of a printing process adapted to a ceramic substrate of 28mm x 40mm on which are then set 0201 packages and µBGA of 2 mm side, 0.5mm pitch.
- maximum flexibility to face short delivery terms and numerous changeovers, for batches ranging from a few units to several hundreds of PCBs.

SPEEDPRINT had been pre-selected by MEGGITT (SENSOREX) together with its previous supplier and another manufacturer after a visit to a sub-contractor nearby equipped with one of our machines.

We then invited our customer to our site in England to attend production tests with their ceramic substrate and their stencil.
As the results would not have been significant without the vacuum system required, to hold the substrate, SPEEDPRINT decided to develop it free of charge.

SENSOREX technical services did not even know of the SPEEDPRINT machines just a few weeks before, and contacted EUROPLACER on the reputation of our company and equipment, without being a user yet of any of them.
After this visit to England, and considering our professional approach to their technical issues, the production managers were fully convinced by the performance of our printing machines and the ability of our team to find the most efficient solutions.

Within this partnership scheme, it took just a few days for SENSOREX to agree the commercial conditions offered by SPEEDPRINT as the best price/performance ratio on the market, even though a competitor’s quotation was lower than ours.

This is why we now have the pleasure to add the company MEGGITT (SENSOREX) to our equipment users list.
